What it does

• Reads a small number of public pages, such as the home page, about pages and career pages.
• Records response headers, the TLS certificate and public DNS records.
• Identifies itself as TechTraceBot in the User-Agent header and links to this page.
• Waits between requests to the same host and limits how much it downloads.

What it does not do

• No port scanning and no vulnerability scanning. Only ports 80 and 443 are used.
• No login attempts, and no bypassing of authentication or access controls.
• No collection of credentials, or of personal contact details such as email addresses and phone numbers.
